A saved recording can still be playing through the wrong path.

When the game shows a recording but you cannot hear it, investigate output and playback before changing microphone input or reinstalling Packs.

Playback silence troubleshooting flow
  1. 01

    Confirm the recording really exists

Record a short, obvious line and note whether the game shows a saved take before changing the audio device.

  2. 02

    Check the active output

Select the speaker or headphones you expect to hear, then restart after an output change before retesting playback.

  3. 03

    Use one direct output path

Temporarily avoid Discord capture, OBS monitoring, virtual devices, extra adapters, and surround-routing changes while you test a basic speaker or headset path.

  4. 04

    Retest in the Demo

Repeat the same record-and-playback check in the No Gameplay Demo so Packs and game-mode settings are not part of the diagnosis.

  5. 05

    Only then try community routing

OBS or alternate-output suggestions can be documented as experiments, but they are not a guaranteed or official solution.

Ready for a first round

  • A short recording appears in the game.
  • The expected output is selected and retested after restart.
  • The baseline test uses a direct output path.
  • The Demo reproduces or clears the symptom without Packs.

Quick answers

Playback-silence answers

Keep playback routing separate from microphone capture.

Next step

After playback works, keep the first Pack change small.

Install one known source Pack, restart, and run a short round before changing the rest of the show.
